i watched Adventureland today, i liked it a lot for a few reasons: it's portrayal of love was much more complex than what you usually get to see in films, and so, it felt much truer and closer to reality. another reason is that Kristen Stewart is crazy hot, and i mean she's just absolutely jaw droopingly gorgeous, the role she plays in this probably factors in too. the third reason, the music: lots of Lou Reed, Replacements, i think there's a track by the New York Dolls in which just added to the film.

i like films a lot you know, but they are so far from reality, that i find it hard adjusting to the real world. i always have really romantic representations of everything in my head when nothing even close to resembles that. i don't think i mind this as much as i think to do, and i like being a dreamer.

currently, i'm digging the gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello. never heard something so happy and merry and they make me extremely happy.

despite my fondness for the music in Adventureland, i haven't been in the mood for rock music for the past few months. if i was to point out what it was, it would be that most rock music in my present being sounds like an assault on my ears, and so i've been staving off all rock music until i'm in a better state. instead, i've been listening to a lot of electronic music like Crystal Castles and Ratatat, which sounds heavenly.
